Junior Nationals - Far West Division - Qualification Criteria 2023/24
U14 athletes: Must race up as U16s and qualify top 3 in the U16 age category. They also must submit a written petition to the selection committee the day of the last JNQ.
U16 athletes: Top 5 auto qualify. Athletes under USSS point cut off of 450 also qualify.
U18 athletes: Top 5 auto qualify. Athletes under USSS point cut off of 250F/220M also qualify.
U20 athletes: Top 5 auto qualify. Athletes under USSS point cut off of 250F/220M also qualify.
Petitions are accepted for review by the selection committee if there was an illness, injury or emergency - no discretionary selection.

Scando Cup Qualification Criteria
Athletes must be 16 by the race season.
Qualification is based on the first 3 races at US Nationals. The best cumulative results from the best 2 races will be considered.
Athletes must also have a US Passport and a FIS license.

World Junior Championships Qualification Criteria
Up to 2 athletes per gender will be slected based on overall FIS points.
Qualification Criteria:
2 races under 50 FIS points for men, and under 60 points for women
Best cumulative results from best 2 of the first 3 races at US Nationals
4, 3, 2 bonus points for junior athletes who place in the top 3 overall in first sprint race at US Nationals

OPA Cup Qualification Criteria
OPA Cup is for athletes who will be 16 before the end of the calendar year.
U20 athletes qualify via: top 3 on U20 NRL, 1 top 10 at US Nationals, or qualified for Junior Worlds top 6.
U23 athletes qualify via: top 3 on U23 NRL, 1 top 5 or 2 top 10 at US Nationals, top 10 on Super Tour overall.
U26 athletes qualify via: top 3 on U26 NRL, 1 top 5 at US Nationals, or top 5 on Super Tour overall.
Senior athletes qualify via: top 8 on NRL, top 3 finish at US Nationals, top 3 on Super Tour overall

U23 Worlds Qualification Criteria
Four men and four women will start at U23 Worlds.
Qualification criteria:
Top 30 World Cup finish
2 races under 50 FIS points for men, and under 60 points for women
If fewer than 5 athletes are selected per gender, the best 2 US National/Super Tour rce results will be considered.
4 bonus points for wining the first sprint race at US Nationals

Under 21:
Qualify for World Junior or Youth Olympic Games
Top 10 at NCAA
Top 3 U18 at US Nationals
Top 6 world rank FIS
Top 5 rank USSS list
Top 4 U18 and younger USSS list
Under 24:
Top 30 WC result
Top 6 NCAA
Top 4 world rank FIS
Top 3 rank USSS list

Youth Olympic Games (YOG)
YOG occurs every 2 years.
Athletes must have a valid U.S. passport and active FIS license. Up to 3 men and 3 women will start in each event.
Qualification is based on athletes best two cumulative results at U.S. Nationals.
